Journalists allowed inside main border detention center for children
Two journalists from The Associated Press and a CBS news crew were allowed to tour a border detention facility in Donna, Texas which housed over 4,000 people, mostly unaccompanied children. They were being held in pods that measure up 3,200 square feet each. In many cases, 500 plus children were crammed in a single pod.

Microsoft to supply US Army with AR technology
Microsoft just gained a 10-year contract with the US Army to provide custom HoloLens headsets. Approximately 120,000 AR units will be made in the US and provided to the army at an undetermined date. The deal is said to be worth over $21 billion dollars. The government can’t house the children in detention facilities like they’re humans, but they can throw billions at their military.

Prices for hygiene products set to increase
Due to rising commodity costs and inflation on raw materials, popular brands, Viva, Scott and Cottonelle are making plans to increase prices of their products. This includes baby care items, toilet paper, Huggies diapers, Kleenex tissues, and Kotex products.

Man finds 15,000 bees in his car
Imagine going to do a quick trip to the grocery store just to come back to thousands and thousands of bees in your car. Ahhh! Not the bees!  That’s exactly what happened to one man in New Mexico. An off-duty firefighter helped round the bees up using his beekeeping skills.

Mark your calendars! Rick and Morty season 5 is set to return this summer! The first episode of the season is scheduled for June 20th. The premiere day is also being called Rick and Morty Day.

SpaceX founder asks people to move to South Texas
SpaceX founder Elon Musk tweeted a call for engineers, technicians, and other potential workers to move to South Texas. Starbase, SpaceX‘s launch site, is in Boca Chica. Musk also stated he was donating $20 million to Cameron County schools and $10 million to the City of Brownsville for revitalization. Sounds like gentrification in the long run.

PBS relies on Ken Burns, lacks diversity
Some filmmakers have had enough of PBS showing favoritism to Ken Burns, stating it has created a lack of diversity within the network. 140 documentary filmmakers signed a letter to PBS execs, stating the network has failed to provide support for diverse voices. Burns has created roughly 211 hours of PBS programming proving an exclusive relationship between the independent filmmaker and the network. How hard is it to not pick Ken Burns, PBS?

Virgin Galactic unveils Spaceship III
The space tourism firm, Virgin Galactic, showed off their new spacecraft design for the SpaceShip III. The design is meant to be easier to manufacture. This sleek craft has reflective coating, and looks similar to Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShip II. Testing is said to begin this summer.

$500,000 artwork accidentally damaged
A couple accidentally damaged a $500,00 artwork. The abstract work by JonOne was located at Seoul’s Lotte World Mall in South Korea. JonOne displayed the tools used in front of the piece, including paintbrushes and paint cans. The couple thought it was participatory art, and began painting over it. They were arrested but later released without charges once it was apparent it was an accident.
